Egypt President’s Hosni Mubarak’s family has fled to London, British media have revealed. Mubarak’s son was spotted at London’s Heathrow airport where he came on a private jet with 97 suitcases.
Mubarak’s nickname in Egypt was “Pharaoh” for his long-lasting presidency and vast fortune. The 82 year old, his wife and sons Gamal and Alaa epitomize corruption for Egyptians, and have property and assets all over the world, Britain’s The Mail on Sunday newspaper writes and suggests that they have British passports. Mubarak’s wife Suzanne and his son Gamal were spotted with their enormous luggage both by Cairo and London airport staff.
Suzanne Mubarak is herself half Welsh by blood, born in 1941 to a British nurse Lily May Palmer who married Egyptian student Saleh Thabet in 1934 in Cardiff .
British media assume that Suzanne and her spouse have 25 bn pounds (59 bn dollars) behind them. She loves soirees also attended by France’s First Lady Carla Bruni and charity funds but reporters say the money ends in her accounts. Lady Mubarak goes for trendy outfits and Egyptian reporters call her the country’s Maria Antoinette.
Mubarak’s sons Gamal and Alaa are looking at the world through the windows of their limos and both have a share in arms supplies. The 47 year-old Gamal spent his last 10 years in London working for the Bank of America and established his own investment company Medinvest Associates in 1996. He and his beautiful wife Khadija own a £9M townhouse in London’s trendy Knightsbridge near Hyde Park which is walking distance from his workplace.
